AI training for municipalities, on your own files

A hands-on day for one team: policy advisers, executive secretaries, permit officers, HR or information advisers. An intake first, then practice with the council proposals, applications and memos that will be back on their desks tomorrow.

Delivered at the Municipality of Helmond and the Municipality of Den Helder.

Why now

Your staff already use AI. Do they use it well?

Since 2 February 2025, every organisation that uses AI must ensure sufficient AI literacy among its staff. For municipalities, residents' data, freedom of information requests and administrative care come on top of that.

Providers and deployers of AI systems shall take measures to ensure, to their best extent, a sufficient level of AI literacy of their staff and other persons dealing with the operation and use of AI systems on their behalf.AI Act (EU) 2024/1689, Article 4

What you can and cannot do with data

Which information may go into which tool, checked against the GDPR and your own AI policy.

Output you can account for

A fixed check on facts, logic and sources before anything goes to the executive board or a resident.

Training you can document

Every participant receives a personal certificate, so you can record who completed which training.

Works with the tools you have

Copilot, ChatGPT or no licences yet: the intake decides what we practise with.

Training per department

Five programmes already delivered in a town hall

Each programme is built for one role and tailored to your organisation after the intake. The figures come from the evaluations afterwards.

Scene: wide shot in a historic Dutch town hall committee room: dark wood panelling, tall arched windows, a long oak table with green leather chairs. Five policy advisers in smart office wear: a grey-haired woman in her sixties with reading glasses and a burgundy blazer, a tall man in his forties in a light blue shirt and tie, a woman in her late twenties with short black hair, a man in his fifties with a ginger beard, a woman in her forties wearing a hijab. The trainer stands beside a large display screen at the end of the table.Image: AI-generated

First genuinely enjoyable training in a very long time. You present a clear narrative, ask insightful follow-up questions about how things work in our profession, and share practical tips (along with a great list of useful prompts that we can immediately build on).

I found it to be an educational training that is also practically applicable. It was great to work on topics you actually encounter in practice, and that the training is tailored to these situations, which makes it easy to understand.

Case

From "are we even allowed to?" to five use cases and two pilots

The information advisers at the Municipality of Helmond started at very different levels, mostly used AI privately and had no paid licences. One training day later there was a shared view and a concrete next step.

Frequently asked questions

What municipalities ask us beforehand

That depends on the tool and your AI policy. A fixed part of the training is exactly this: which information may go where, checked against the GDPR. We practise with anonymised or public documents.
The intake maps which tools are available and we tailor the exercises to them. The information advisers in Helmond didn't have paid licences either.
That is the rule rather than the exception. The intake shows where everyone stands and the trainer adjusts the pace to the group. Beginners leave with practical tips, advanced users with reusable ways of working.
The training is a concrete measure to build AI literacy, as Article 4 requires. Every participant receives a personal certificate, so you can record who completed which training.
You receive one quote with a fixed price per group, including intake, materials, certificates and travel. Once approved, we schedule the intake and the training date.
On location at your town hall. Prefer somewhere else? It can also take place at the NextPrompt Academy on Brainport Human Campus in Helmond.
Yes. Each department gets its own group and its own programme, so the exercises fit the work. That is how five teams were trained in Helmond.
